The failure is not at the top of that funnel. It sits at the lowest layer, where nobody files anything at all.

Bangladesh can be counted from the other direction. Nineteen golf courses in the country, only five of them with eighteen holes. The federation presidency has historically rotated through army-administered leadership, and much of the course inventory sits inside cantonments. The permission to walk through the gate is the real ranking here. In a sport where entry is settled by a tee time, Strokes Gained is a luxurious question.

The gap golf maintains between five eighteen-hole layouts and fourteen shorter ones is not a par-three versus par-four difference. It is a class difference.

Test the inverse. The constraint is not the volume of data but the habit of selecting it. Strokes Gained begins once a player is already inside the ropes — it describes only what someone had already decided was worth recording. The missing variable in Bangladesh is exactly that: access, club membership, who was told about a trial and when. ShotLink will never photograph that gate. A metric that counts only the players who got inside can never report how many were locked out.

The silence of the decade after Siddikur invites a second error. The convenient reading is a fairy tale that ended — one man came, one man won, the story closed. I read it as a measurement failure. Fairy tales do not end; they go unrecorded. Keep one distinction intact: structural absence and accidental absence are not the same thing. Army control, no television product, no women's professional pathway — that is an absence which compounds every year. A quiet news cycle is the other kind, and it proves nothing.
